Northern California booze country is threatened as a series of large wildfires continue to fury in the counties of Napa, Sonoma, and elsewhere.
Nearly two dozen fires ignited earlier this week and grew as strong, dry winds widespread the abandon over fields and freeways. The eight-county fire destroyed more than 3,500 homes, businesses, and other structures, and sent residents journey for their lives. At least 29 people are dead.
A majority of the area’s thousands of wineries have been spared. But winemakers won’t know the border of the repairs until depletion orders are carried and they can return to their estates.
