WhatsApp organisation chats are a blessing and a abuse for many of us.

On one hand, they help us keep up with all the mates, but the assault of notifications can be a shocker.

It’s likely to take something flattering big to make you wish to leave – despite the many, many updates – but the option is always there.

If you do confirm to bail from a chat, the way you do so is a little opposite depending on either you’re a organisation admin or just a participant.

As an admin, you can go full scorched-earth and mislay everybody then delete, which is a pierce that’s very much at your own discretion.

As a participant, you’re free to leave at any time and leave the rest of them to get on with it.

How to undo a WhatsApp organisation as an admin

You can only do this if you’re the admin of a WhatsApp organisation – it won’t work if you’re just a member.

  1. Go to the group in WhatsApp.
  2. Tap the subject of the group.
  3. Tap the participant you wish to remove.
  4. Tap Remove {participant} in the menu.

Then, to undo the organisation altogether:

  1. Open WhatsApp and go to the Chats screen.
  2. Swipe on the organisation (or daub if you’re on Android) you wish to delete.
  3. Tap More, and select Delete Group.

How to undo a WhatsApp organisation as a participant

This won’t actually undo the organisation for everybody else, but it will mislay it from your phone.

If you’re not prepared to dedicate to a full undo just yet, you can select to repository the organisation at the next step if you wish, which will save it in a apart folder.

  1. Go to the Chats tab in WhatsApp.
  2. Tap on the organisation name (or appropriate if you’re on iPhone).
  3. Click Exit Group.
  4. Do the same again, and click Delete Group.

And you’re gone.
