Raiders teammate on Marshawn Lynch’s protest: ‘I’m unapproachable of him’

NAPA, Calif. — Marshawn Lynch isn’t shedding anymore light on his decision to lay during the National Anthem before the Oakland Raiders’ first muster game.

Lynch declined to criticism on because he chose to lay down Saturday night while the rest of his teammates stood during the anthem before a diversion in Arizona against the Cardinals.

That left his teammates to answer for him on Tuesday after the organisation returned for its first use given that game.

“I’m unapproachable of him,” parsimonious finish Jared Cook said. “I consider it’s awesome. Everybody has points of contention after what happened in Charlottesville just the night before. we consider it’s critical for men in the position to step up and pronounce on nonessential situations we find ourselves in as minorities in this country. That’s because I’m unapproachable of him.”

Cook pronounced he hadn’t talked to Lynch about his position and didn’t know what privately he was protesting. Other players who have declined to mount for the anthem have been much some-more open about their reasons, starting with former San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick, whose criticism last year over police savagery and secular hardship done it a major issue in the NFL.

“We didn’t speak to him,” Cook said. “I don’t know his intentions. we don’t know what he wanted to do by it. But we know that guys like Colin Kaepernick have turn my favorite football players for doing it.”

Kaepernick is not on a organisation this deteriorate but the issue stays with Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Michael Bennett and Lynch both sitting for the anthem last weekend.

Bennett has been outspoken about his reasons why, citing social injustice. He pronounced his decision was solidified by the assault last weekend surrounding a white supremacist convene in Charlottesville, Virginia, that enclosed the death of a immature lady who was struck by a automobile deliberately driven into a organisation of counter-protesters.

Cook pronounced he has deliberate an anthem criticism in the past and does not order out doing one this season.

“As distant as the future goes, we don’t know. we don’t know,” he said. “I know we feel nervous about the conditions going on in this country and have been for a while.”

Raiders manager Jack Del Rio pronounced last deteriorate that players should criticism on their own time instead of when they are representing the organization. Del Rio pronounced after the diversion that Lynch told him he had not stood for the anthem for his whole career and it was a “non-issue” for the coach.

“I flattering much done the matter we caring to make on it,” he pronounced Tuesday. “I don’t have anything to add.”
