Desperate rescuers fear they won’t find anyone else alive in the California mudslide rubble amid fears the death fee could hit 57.

Sniffer dogs have been deployed to try and find victims of the Tuesday night slide, while rescuers are also using prolonged poles to examine the plod for passed bodies.

One person was discovered yesterday, nonetheless officials warned those trapped in the sludge were at risk of constrictive hypothermia within an hour.

The disaster happened when complicated rain sent thousands of tonnes of sludge and boulders cascading by the town.

That was caused by wildfires in the area last year, which nude the belligerent of foliage which routinely binds dirt together in soppy weather.

Those wildfires have also been blamed for worsening the mudslide death toll. Some locals contend they had ‘evacuation fatigue’ after being systematic to leave home to equivocate the blaze.

But it unsuccessful to means any major repairs in Montecito, with many determining to it was protected to omit warnings this time, only to be proven tragically wrong.
