An honest schoolgirl has been lavished with regard for handing in a wallet which had £1,000 inside.
Caitlin Jeffery, 13, found the wallet fibbing in the highway which had been forsaken by blind and deaf licentiate Dennis Clatworthy in Exeter.
The schoolgirl handed the wallet into the nearest shop and the hunt began for the owner, the only idea was a 30-year-old picture of man.
However, not everybody is as honest as Caitlin, 5 people tried to explain the wallet as their own before the genuine owners 80-year-old Dennis was located.
He said: ‘For a 13-year-old to have finished what she did is brilliant. we know people who would not have handed it in. we had a rip in my eye when we got it back. we am so beholden to Caitlin.
‘Teenagers get a tough time but we can't appreciate her enough.’
His son Mark, 57, said: ‘My father sent Caitlin a £50 reward. She is saving up and doing jobs to lift £2,000 so she can go on a school outing to Malawi.
‘Her relatives must be very unapproachable of her. My father is 80 and is almost totally blind and deaf. The photo in it is of my father – it’s about 25-30 years old. He must be one of the few people who carries a photo of himself in his wallet.’
Caitlin, of Exeter, said: ‘I just saw the wallet fibbing in the road. There was a lot of income in it and just a photo of a man. we was really happy Dennis got it all back.’
Last month a teen in the USwas spectacularly rewarded for anticipating the owners of a wallet he found.

He contacted the actor and the span seemed on the Ellen show, where the actor gave Tristin all the income in the wallet and then some on top.
Then Ellen DeGeneres handed him a coupon for $10,000 for his education.
