NJ Transit service to Penn Station dangling due to stuck bridge

NJ Transit service in and out of Penn Station was dangling Thursday since of an insurmountable drawbridge.

The Portal Bridge in Secaucus was stuck in the open position starting at 11 a.m., formulating delays up to 20 minutes, according to NJ Transit alerts.

With the overpass not budging, NJ Transit had to reroute its Midtown approach trains to Hoboken Terminal.

Service to and from Penn Station was using on report or close to it shortly before 3:30 p.m., the rail group said.

The Thursday morning invert on NJ Transit was already problematic.

There were 20-minute delays coming in and out of Penn Station around 6 a.m., authorities said.

That was blamed on Amtrak beyond handle that lost energy at Penn Station.
