WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — It’s been almost 9 years given Casey Anthony’s daughter, Caylee, went blank in Orlando. It’s been 6 given the circus-like murder hearing that finished in Anthony’s acquittal.
Anthony is now 30 and vital in the home of Patrick McKenna, the lead private questioner on her invulnerability team. Much of her life, like the resources surrounding her daughter’s death, has been a mystery. But during 5 interviews with The Associated Press over a weeklong period, Anthony pronounced she lives a normal life.
Anthony says she loves her job. In further to vital in McKenna’s home, she works for him. She does online social media searches and other inquisitive work. She says that someday she’d like to get her private investigator’s license. She believes she was tried and convicted in the justice of open opinion before trial, and says that creates her work harder for her clients.
“If they are guilty or innocent, it doesn’t matter,” she said. “They merit to have their day in court; they merit to have the tangible contribution laid out to the intensity jury.”
Fascination with O.J. Simpson case
She’s perplexed by the hearing of O.J. Simpson, who was clear of killing his wife and her friend. Her boss, McKenna, also worked on his case. Anthony says she can empathise with Simpson, who is in jail on separate charges.
“We were both two high-profile cases where there were a lot of twisted facts,” she says. “I’ve left by the files and can contend exclusively but just being biased, the timeline doesn’t make sense.”
Hobbies: photography and nature
Anthony enjoys holding photos of nature, generally squirrels. Last year, she incorporated a photography business in Florida.
She reads: In her bedroom, Anthony has two stacks of books on a white bureau. Among them: “Alibis” by Andre Aciman, (a series of essays about time, place, identity, and art); “Barbara the Slut and Other People” by Lauren Holmes (a collection of brief stories about relations and sex); and “The Andy Warhol Diaries.” She also has a few classics: “1984” by George Orwell, “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee, and two versions of “The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allen Poe.”
Anthony has friends — some in the authorised margin and the media, she says — and they spasmodic go out to bars and clubs in the West Palm Beach area. Anthony says she is not, and never has ever been, a partier, despite rumors during hearing centered on Facebook photos of her celebration and clubbing. But she does likes Fat Tire beer.
She spasmodic chats with men while out and allows some to buy her a drink, but generally her repute follows her. People point, glance and take photos. That’s when she’ll leave the bar. “I don’t give a s—- about what anyone thinks about me,” she says. “I’m OK with myself, we nap flattering good at night.”
Reminders of her daughter are everywhere. Photos of Caylee, with and but her mom, are placed around her room, as are colorful pictures embellished by the little girl in the months before her death. Anthony also has framed sonogram photos she says are from her pregnancy.
