We may never be means to means the own homes (blame the sandwiches), but at slightest us millennials aren’t vouchsafing houseshares or vital at the parents’ home for years hold us back from having all kinds of sex.

New investigate from the Journal of Adolescent Health suggests that hip immature millennials are experimenting sexually loads more than prior generations – and at a younger age.

More than one in 10 millennials pronounced they’d had anal sex by the age of 18, while by the age of 22-24, 3 in 10 pronounced they’d tried some anal action.

Vaginal and verbal sex are still the many common forms of passionate activity, so don’t panic, we’re not forgetful the fun of entering by the front door.

And while we may be experimenting more, the age we start having sex hasn’t budged much. The consult suggests many of us still have sex for the first time at 16. The normal age millennials have their first lick is 14.

That’s not a large change, just so you know. Even when you review these ages to the normal in the 1930s, when dating was radically different, they’ve only shifted by around two years – back in the thirties, teens had their first smooches at 16, and had sex for the first time at 19 or 20.

It’s not clear why we’ve turn some-more initial at a younger age. While some indicate to increasingly easy entrance to pornography, it could also be down to the diminution in settlement around passionate experimentation.

It’s no longer widely deliberate to be deeply corrupted to have sex outward of marriage, or to have sex for functions other than facsimile (you know, like lust and pleasure).

Kaye Wellings, comparison author of the research, said: ‘The changes in practices we see here are unchanging with the widening of other aspects of immature people’s passionate experience, and are maybe not startling given the fast changing social context and the ever-increasing series of influences on passionate behaviour.

‘Anal sex is still flattering stigmatised, but attitudes seem to be changing. We know multitude has turn some-more usurpation of things like same sex poise overall.’

Kaye records that some-more investigate is indispensable to understand why we’re apropos some-more adventurous, but for now, let’s just applaud the idea that we’re breaking down the shame around sex and trying out things to work out what we like.

As prolonged as we’re staying protected (please use condoms, people), this can only be a good thing.
