Flu suspected in 5-year-old Brooklyn girl’s death

A 5-year-old girl who died after descending ill in her Brooklyn home may be the fourth immature victim of the influenza this winter.

Medics rushed the immature victim from her unit in Canarsie’s Bay View Houses on Shore Parkway nearby E. 102nd St. to Brookdale University Hospital just after 10 p.m. Saturday, FDNY officials said. She died at the hospital, and city Health Department officials are questioning either she succumbed to the flu, sources told the Daily News.

“The lady non-stop her doorway and she started screaming, observant that her daughter wasn’t breathing, so we came and called 911,” a neighbor told NBC News 4.

City Health Department officials have reliable the deaths of 3 children from flu, including an 8-year-old girl from Queens.

The city saw 6 flu-related child deaths in the 2016-2016 influenza season, officials said.
