Alexandra Burke suffered a harmful detriment at the start of her Strictly journey, as her mom Melissa Bell died on the same day as the show’s red runner launch event.

Speaking at the time, the 29-year-old X Factor leader pronounced that her mum’s dream was for her to seem on Strictly Come Dancing, so she carried on for her.

Now, having finished it to the show’s grand culmination with Gorka Marquez, Alexandra reveals that her mom continues to give her strength and she thinks she’d be unapproachable of how distant she’s come.

She says: ‘This was my mum’s favourite show, my family’s favourite show and we consider she would be very proud.

‘I’m very certain she would be, my silent was just the many extraordinary women who gave me so much strength and she still does to this day.

‘You know, all we do is for my family so she would be proud.’

Seriously can’t trust tonight was the last rehearsal. Gorka you have been a dream. Just a dream to be around and work with. we can’t wait for this weekend and wish to make you proud. Thank for all over the past 3 months. we couldn’t have finished this but you. I’ve finished a crony for life in what’s been the toughest time – and we will always be beholden for you. The former West End star admits that doing Strictly has brought her happiness, despite the problems she has faced – including relentless trolling.

She says: ‘I can’t appreciate Strictly adequate for giving me complacency in a very weird time in my life. Everyone has finished that tour for me so special.

‘I consider for me, the feedback that we got online is some-more about, whatever you are going by in life, you can find a good outcome, there is always that light at the finish of the tunnel.

‘I had the event to take a step back and contend to myself, “Maybe I’m not prepared to do the show mentally” but actually I’ve astounded myself.

‘I’m not going to contend everything’s been rosy, I’ve had ups and downs but I’ve finished something that’s brought me such joy.

‘If we can enthuse someone else to dance or do something they love, in the toughest of times in their life, then that’s what I’m here for.’

Alexandra’s mom – who was a thespian in Soul II Soul – was diagnosed with kidney disaster while she was competing on The X Factor in 2008.

Two years after it emerged that Alexandra had offering to give up one of her kidneys to her ill mom in a bid to save her life but she refused the offer since she did not wish her daughter to scapegoat her chances of having a family – a probable side outcome of the operation.

The Strictly Come Dancing culmination front tonight at 6.30pm on BBC One.
