Singer songwriter Seth Ennis has warranted himself the standing of ‘one to watch’ with his country cocktail vibe.
But not just that, his skills as a songwriter have got him noticed, having created for country greats such as Tyler Farr before apropos the man at the front of the theatre himself.
For him, the importance of music is on songwriting, that’s where the energy lies, and in any of his 5 songs on his EP Mabelle carries its own summary and story.
The name of the EP itself comes from the building where he lived in a one bedroom prosaic with 4 other friends having given up his life in Georgia to pursue a career in music in Nashville.
In a time when the concentration has swung back around to songwriting, Seth, 23, has been pitted as one to watch.
He illuminated up the Royal Albert Hall – a room of people who confessed to not meaningful him. At one indicate he asked the throng to put up their hands if they had no suspicion who he was and almost everybody did. But by the time he sang his beautifully touching lane Our Town, he had them moving with their mobile phone lights lighting up the iconic room.
They weren’t there for the 23-year-old, they were there for Little Big Town, but by the finish of his set he had won over a whole new multitude of fans.
And there in lies the energy of country music, with its emotive stories and capturing melodies that seem to hold people no matter what.
It’s all in the essay – the lyrics are the pushing force, and Seth proves that with his touching lane Our Town.
‘I wrote that strain with a lady named Liz and she is from Dallas Texas, and a little bit over a year ago there was a sharpened in Dallas,’ he told Metro.co.uk. ‘And she was there when it happened. She came for the strain essay event and was flattering kick up about everything.
‘One thing she pronounced was “the misfortune thing about it is how they’re articulate about us on the news, that’s not the town.” And we was like “we’re essay that strain today.”
And there came the pleasing strain about a city hit by tragedy, which he gave to country thespian Tyler Farr. But it became even some-more touching than that.
‘I listened it for the first time at last year’s Route 91 Fest a year ago, a year to the date of this year’s shooting,’ he pronounced earnestly. ‘I remember when Tyler sang it everybody in the throng was one as one. It was a really special moment for me as a songwriter to see the energy of the strain and what it can do, like spin a terrible conditions into something that looks so awesome.
‘And one year after that same throng was massacred. We’re back at that same thing.’
So he achieved the strain for his Royal Albert Hall throng as a ‘middle finger to all the immorality things in the world.’
For Seth, songwriting is as an critical partial of his music as any, if not some-more so.
‘I adore essay about personal stuff,’ he said. ‘Growing up as a military child we was never really in hold with my emotions. we had a partner tell me “you’re not in hold with your emotions, you don’t contend how you feel”. we was like “I don’t know how”. But when we started essay music it was like we found that. It’s special to me. I’m dependant to strain writing. It’s a therapy for me.’
He knew music was his selected trail from the age of 5 when he schooled his first instrument. He after started gigging as a drummer at just 16, but he shortly realised essay songs was what he wanted to be doing.
‘I got into music when we was 5 years old and my father done me take piano lessons. I’ve been personification music my whole life, and started personification drums when we was around eight to 10.
‘My first travelling gig was when we was 16 personification for someone, but then we didn’t wish to be out back we wanted to be up front interesting everyone. we taught myself guitar and started essay songs.’
So against his family’s wishes, he upped sticks from his home in Georgia and changed to Nashville, the home of country songwriting.
‘I suspicion for country music the place to be for it was Nashville. we lived in Nashville not meaningful anybody and lived with a couple of best friends in an unit called Maybelle, and that’s what we named my first EP. we can’t get divided from it, we adore music.’
As a start out musician he and 3 of his friends lived in a one bedroom unit that cost $150 a month and they all slept in berth beds.
‘We had a good time and some of my best memories are in that apartment,’ he said. Although he substantially could do but seeing Ramen noodles for a while.
But life as a songwriter is tough, generally in a day and age where artists are only really means to make music from behaving now that earthy sales are massively dwindling. That leaves a songwriter on the back foot, so to fund his passion Seth incited to gigging.
‘I used to consider “where am we going to get any income from?”‘ Seth confessed. ‘And then a gig would cocktail up and we can go play piano for somebody or play drums, or my own cover rope gig, there was always some way we would get by any week. It would let me concentration on essay and networking and assembly people in Nashville and then play another weekend.
And despite things being tough, at one indicate he only had $8 left to get by on, Seth ploughed on.
‘Ramen Noodles were all to us! we remember having eight dollars in my bank comment at one time and just being like “I’m not going to call my father and ask for money’. we didn’t wish to be that person – he didn’t wish me to pierce to Nashville, he wanted me to be a counsel and he’s a military father and was super tough on us and we was the center child who was super eccentric and ‘I’m gonna pierce to Nashville and show you we can do this’ so the last thing we wanted to do was acknowledge I’d hit stone bottom. we had $8 and we found a gig last notation to play and bought some some-more Ramen noodles.’
Those Ramen noodles were worth every penny, now he’s now he is delivering his first EP, Mabelle.
