Jenson Button has suggested how Richard Branson once plainly flirted and ‘touched’ Button’s partner Jessica Michibata inappropriately.
The story come from his new autobiography, and Button claims that Branson was doubtful when he began his ‘blatant flirting” and ‘put his palm on [Jessica’s] face’.
He wrote that he had left Michibata at a cooking eventuality in Australia the night before the 2009 Australian Grand Prix to go to the lavatory when Branson assimilated her and Button’s manager at the table.
‘He lurched over to the list and plonked himself down and started working like a party-starter,’ wrote Button.
‘I had to make a toilet revisit so we didn’t see what happened next, which was that he leaned over to Jessica and told her, “Stop staring at me.” She forked out that she wasn’t staring at him. “Stop staring at me,” he insisted. Although Jessica was a indication she was utterly shy, so this was making her feel uncomfortable.
‘Especially when Sir Richard followed up his blatant flirting by putting his palm on her face. “Look, we consider you better leave,” warned my manager Richard, “or you’re going to get chinned when Jenson gets back.”’
Button then goes on to exhibit that he would never have punched Branson before a race – Branson’s company Virgin was a unite of Brawn GP, the group Button then raced for – ‘but even so we was mad to return and find His Excellency with his palm on my girlfriend’s face’.
The story has been published in The Telegraph as an remove from his new book Life To The Limit.
Branson reportedly apologised to Button and Michibata after the eventuality and Button claims Branson even gave up celebration ‘for months afterwards’.
Branson himself has also formerly discussed the moment, essay in his own journal Finding My Virginity: ‘Jenson and his partner were sitting at the next table, enjoying a distant quieter dusk as he had to race the next morning.
‘By contrast, by a reduction of tiredness, jetlag and drink, we shortly found myself very, very inebriated. This wasn’t like me; we can’t remember ever getting that dipsomaniac before or since.’
He went on to exhibit how he remembered revelation Michibata ‘how beautiful she was’ but that ‘Jenson understandably took corruption and we motionless to shelter fast from the list (thankfully, we smoothed it out).’
