Walmart is reportedly slicing thousands of store co-managers after lifting wages

  • Walmart is reportedly slicing 3,500 co-manager
    positions and adding 1,700 lower-paid partner store
    managers.
  • The restructuring comes the day after Walmart announced
    it will lift its starting hourly salary to $11.
  • Walmart also announced Thursday that it would close 63
    Sam’s Club stores in a pierce that would impact roughly 9,400
    employees. 

 

Walmart is slicing thousands of store manager positions and
adding new lower-paid positions,
Bloomberg reports. 

The tradesman is stealing 3,500 salaried co-managers and adding
1,700 partner store managers.

The managers whose jobs are cut will be means to request for other
positions.

In a matter to Business Insider, Walmart pronounced the
restructuring is meant to meet customers’ changing needs with the
expansion of e-commerce.

“Retail is changing fast and we are transforming to meet
the needs of the customers,” the company said. “W

e
have a flourishing importance on portion business seamlessly however
they wish to shop: in stores, online, on their mobile device —
by pickup or delivery. To help contest and win in this
environment, we must make changes opposite the company to enable
serve investments in the vital business priorities and
growth.”

The restructuring comes the day after Walmart announced it will
lift its starting hourly salary to $11, enhance parental leave
benefits, and give cash bonuses to employees of up to
$1,000. 

Walmart also announced Thursday that it would close 63 Sam’s Club
stores in a pierce that would impact roughly 9,400 employees.
