An anti-Trump transformation is holding advantage of Prime Day to double down on its criticism of Amazon.
The Grab Your Wallet movement, an online criticism started in Oct 2016 by brand and digital strategist Shannon Coulter, is encouraging Trump critics to criticism Amazon until the ecommerce hulk stops selling Trump-related products. Currently, the website sells equipment from both Donald and Ivanka Trump’s conform brands.
The on-going transformation is also attempting to pressure Amazon to stop using ads on the far-right website Breitbart News.
Since the election, hundreds of brands have blocked their ads from using on Breitbart, which critics have accused of edition extremist and misogynistic articles like a 2015 piece by Milo Yiannopoulos headlined, “Birth Control Makes Women Unattractive and Crazy.” Amazon hasn’t nonetheless pulled its ads despite advocacy groups protesting the company’s shareholders meeting.
“Wish we could join in the #PrimeDay fun, but can’t do business with Amazon until they stop doing business with haters,” Coulter tweeted on Monday.
While Amazon has remained on the Grab Your Wallet criticism list given 2016, the ecommerce hulk isn’t winning over any Trump loyalists either. Amazon’s founder and CEO Jeff Bezos — who also owns The Washington Post — has criticized Trump, yet Bezos has pronounced that Amazon strives to be apolitical.
In February, Trump supporters threatened to criticism Amazon after news pennyless that it would support Washington state in a sovereign lawsuit severe Trump’s executive sequence exclusive people from 7 majority-Muslim countries from entering the US. And, in June, Trump tweeted that the “Amazon Washington Post” is “FAKE NEWS.”
