Studies have regularly shown the advantages of having a set family dish time every day. Research has shown that the advantages are generally pronounced in children, who mostly show higher feat scores and are generally some-more physically fit when they reguarly eat a daily dish with their families.
But what family dish time looks like in any particular domicile can change greatly, which is something photographer Lois Bielefeld wanted to try in her series “Weeknight Dinners.”
Bielefeld, who’s represented by Portrait Society Gallery, visited 78 households to see how families are sitting down for dinner every night. Focusing on weeknights, when people customarily have reduction free time, she found that there were some major differences in how famillies spent the dish together.
